Investment Management
This three-day course provides a comprehensive view of the nature of Investment Management. As well as examining asset classes and the way markets operate, it describes the processes involved in portfolio administration, dividend processing, stock delivery and settlement, valuation and portfolio performance reporting. A brief review of Modern Portfolio Theory and its impact on portfolio structuring is included.
Pensions Trusteeship
The Pensions Trusteeship programme consists of a number of one- and two-day modules that address Pension Fund Trusteeship and Administration, Scheme Management, Local Authority Pension Funds, and Asset Management. Each of the modules is led by an experienced practitioner and the two-day events include significant practical work.
Portfolio Policy and Performance
A one-day course introducing the issues surrounding the establishment of portfolio policy, the principles of performance measurement using MoneyWeighted and Time-Weighted Return and the elements of risk management. This will include a review of the nature of risk in bonds and equity markets and an overview of the Capital Asset Pricing Model.
A Tutorial in Futures, Options and Other Derivatives
A one-day tutorial for up to five delegates introducing the concept and purpose of futures, options, warrants and convertible bonds. The tutorial will address types of derivatives, trading & settlement, the role of the Exchange and the Clearing House, options pricing & valuation and derivatives strategies. Worked examples are provided to support and illustrate the presentation and discussion material.
