Alan Ainsworth

Before founding Ainsworth & Associates in 1986 Alan Ainsworth worked in all Information Systems disciplines from programmer to head of computer services and as a senior consultant for a firm of international management consultants. He has for many years been a deliverer of well-founded business solutions using appropriate technology. His particular strength lies in bridging the comprehension gap between front-office business management, operations management and technologists.

His business applications development experience includes investment management and investment banking systems, property management and modelling systems and financial and corporate modelling tools. His technical applications experience includes extensive data and process modelling for investment managers and investment banks, from front office decision support to back office counter-party communication and reconciliation.

He is a Chartered IT Practitioner, and has been an occasional summer school lecturer in Corporate Financial Strategy for a well-regarded UK MBA programme. He has spoken at international conferences on Straight Through Processing and on Client Reporting and Performance Measurement and has published frequently on these topics. He has successfully managed large teams and multi-million pound budgets, achieving significant added value for his clients.

Terry O'Connell

Terry O'Connell has been engaged in the application of Information Technology in business since graduating from Cambridge. He has successfully carried out a wide range of management and planning roles and has comprehensive experience of systems development and project management. He has worked on strategic studies in many types of business. He has more recently been responsible for the development of a large number of successful IT business operations serving the financial sector. Throughout his career he has been involved in the planning and implementation of IT systems solutions for many financial institutions and has advised management at the most senior levels in these institutions on the use of IT in their businesses.

Clive Lewis-Jones

Clive Lewis-Jones is a Chartered Accountant with a degree from Cambridge and an MSc in finance and accounting from LSE.  Since leaving the accountancy profession he has gained wide experience of management in a range of financial services activities.

For a FTSE 100 financial services group he combined the roles of Finance and Operations Director of the investment businesses (responsible for substantially all processes, pricing, accounting and infrastructure) and Executive Chairman of the trust business (unit trusts, corporate trustee services and private client wealth management).  Previously he had been a director of the offshore arm of a major London investment management firm, and had worked in a major London merchant bank and a large US commercial bank.

Key skills and experience include:

  • re-organising processes and structures for securities processing, investment accounting and unit trust and fund administration
  • selection and implementation of major IT systems
  • directing and co-ordinating a wide range of diverse operational activities (including IT)
  • change activities (eg workforce rationalisations, acquisitions, disposals)
  • setting strategy, building a new management team and changing culture
  • effective business management information.

Practitioners

It is part of our delivery philosophy that our Prinicipals remain effective practitioners. From first discussions to post-implementation reviews our Principals will always be fully involved in projects and assignments, either as Project Directors, Project Managers or assigned Consultants.
